English translation of the Chinese version of "Ignorant Speaker 1"

"The knower do not speak, the speaker do not know." --Laozi. DaoDeJing. Chapter 56

Never write for a column before, should make good use of this golden oppurtunity, the burning flame of proudness is high up.

This open liner may scare the readers off, killing any desire to read even a line further. But, this may fish some criticizes. Of course, my experience as a reader tought me the dry bean curd at the back page of paper seldom make any serious progress. Further more, the majorities only browse through without thinking. Therefore, any high flame may extinguish after the rainfall. With that kind of preparation, to keep on writing this is to prepare for the worst.

The ancient wisdom of Laozi's TaoDeJing are forgotten by the modern, the need to re-knowing persist. But who of the busy with daily life will read this 25 centuries old text? The modern knowledge is expanding tremendously, even after the formal primary, secondary and tertiary education, one cannot grasp enough knowledge, and the cyberworld is expanding by the speed of 10000X.

But knowledge in cyberworld consist many craps. Rationally speaking, with the "success" of the near 100 year of industrialization we should have lived better, but one may think otherwise.

Why is language cannot be separated from human being? It may serve as a medium for certain ideals beside information trasfer. But the mis-use of language is just too much, causing the language became a weapon to kill.

A beautiful life is an ideal goal for all. But during goal setting, the beautiful ideals become rather rugged relationships.

For an instance, one target to reach certain achievement by certain age. Put it in another words, to own house and car before marriage, to earn the 1st bucket of gold nuggets before 30, to get retired by 45 and travel to the whole world then, ect. And, fallen into the pitfall that set by oneself, rolling in the world to achieve the set targets. The example shown may not bring happiness of achieving, but all the hurtful side effects along the process of achieving. And, whether one achieved it is not solely depends on the efforts and methods.

It is as though setting goal is not good. Actually, this is not to show the dark side of setting goals, but how to set goals. Define the life using some figures seem convenient enough, one only need to lies all data and crack one's head to achieve the set number. But, how will the hardened number be beautiful?

LaoZi says: Dao gives birth to one, one gives birth to two, two gives birth to three, three gives birth to all. This must not be understood as some hardened number, contrary to it, the source of all is where the ideal lies, to give up the primordial and search for the deravatives, is doomed to dissappointment. All love Truth, Good and Beauty, but not neccessary know how to do to suit, when a coloured glass is in front of one, how can one sees the world in its true colour?

As young as the writer is, LaoZi should not be his discussion. But even the old folks today are not neccessarily grasped what LaoZi explicates as clear natural Wuwei (Not-doing). Therefore, dare to talk nonsense here. Readers can just ignore it, for this seemingly irresponsible attitude yield the column title of Ignorant Speaker.

Hence the introduction.
